Maria Luísa and Santa Eulália beaches are a walk away through the resort's pines and cork oaks, and from there the clifftop path runs east above the red rock. Come back to six pools, a large private balcony and somewhere to dry your boots.

Come when the coast is quiet
The Algarve walks best from October to April, when the light is long, the paths are empty and the afternoons sit comfortably in the high teens. The almond blossom arrives in February. It is also when the apartment is at its most affordable and the resort is at its calmest — the pools, tennis courts and restaurants without the August queues.
